MIT Folding Endurance Tester | 530


The MIT Folding Endurance Tester evaluates the folding endurance of a wide range of materials, from paper and plastic film to leather and foil.

Whatever the material type, the simple method is the same – your sample is repeatedly folded on both sides at a set folding rate until it’s severed at the crease.

 

We offer the MIT Folding Endurance Tester in two separate models: the D2 and the S2. The main difference is that the D2 uses a dead weight loading system, while the S2 features a spring loaded option. 

The spring loaded S2 is suitable for materials with low elongation, such as paper, while the dead weight loaded D2 is suitable for materials with high elongation, such as plastic film.

The MIT Folding Endurance Tester places samples under a constant tension load. The specimen is then folded to an angle of 135° in either direction, at the rate of 175 double folds per minute.
