Non-contact drying and curing time measurement device

The drying and curing time of paints, inks, adhesives, etc. has traditionally been evaluated by the contact method.  This non-contact measurement device, which adopts a laser interference technology, applies the laser light to sample surface and processes the spotted interference fringes pattern generated in the reflected laser light with its unique image processing technology.

This is a new measurement method to evaluate changes in the state of samples and enables the measurement of drying, curing time, softening time, and the drying state of the surface skin. The applicable sample states include a wide range of changes in from liquid to solid, and from sol to gel.

Features

• The non-contact measurement method does not apply any load nor give damages to the samples;

• Real-time measurement enables on-the-spot observation of the samples’ drying and curing process;

• The heating plate enables the measurement while samples are heated up;

• By changing measuring intervals, non-contact measurement is applicable from materials that hardens quickly to materials that hardens over long period of time;

• The brightness of the reflected laser light is automatically adjusted through changing laser output; and,

• The test data is recalculated by changing measurement intervals of the saved images.
